Adumu is a bold, untamed display typeface inspired by the African brushland. I was thinking of the blocky, chunky shape of dried dirt clods and wanted a font to embody that quality. When drawing the initial shapes, it struck me right away as something African and the theme grew stronger from there. After an enormous amount of changes and revisions over time, it slowly started to become more tribal and wild.
